1976 Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Gold Platehancock By george, i think you'll like this auction! This. Listing is for an official bicentennial year commemorative plate produced by the franklin mint in 1976.
It is a limited edition plate (#6322) portraying john hancock signing the declaration of independence. This plate is made from solid sterling silver, and the john hancock scene is produced yb 24kt gold electroplated to the plate. In the background are john adams, thomas jefferson and benjamin franklin, who served on the committee charged with drafting the declaration of independence. The legend around the rim of the plate is etched and inlaid with 24kt gold.
This plate is the final issue in the official bicentennial commemorative plates of the bicentennial council of the thirteen original states. This plaet has an 8 inch diameter, and it is in at least near mint condition. It was purchased and then stored until now. All of the original documentation (including the certificate of authenticity) will be included with this plate and its original packaging.
